Metz Aerials provides the B32 rescue aerial ladders for fire trucks networked via CANopen. The 18 000 kg device measures 9 m × 2,5 m × 3,3 m and extends up to a working height of 32 m (other models up to 39 m). It works in a diameter of more than 17 m and can carry up to 400 kg of weight. That weight is purely weight inside the cabin, water weight is additional to that. The device is controlled via a human machine interface in the platform and the main trunk of the ladder to enable flexibility for users The display is divided into main menu and sub menus to keep operation as simple as possible to the operator under stress. Keys are divided into three sections – safety, functionality, and add-ons. The chassis is an MAN 18.285 LC with 206 kW power (280 PS) and a 9-gear transmission. The cabin is equipped to hold two rescue staff plus two additional people and provides a surround floodlight and a spotlight. The cabin is movable to 45° to the left and right. Its front and read rails fold so that people can walk onto it in upright position. The water is supplied via a monitor outside the cabin is fed via a telescopic shaft girder with up to 2 300 l/min.
