CiA® 420 series: CANopen profiles for extruder downstream devices
The CiA 420 series of device profiles was developed jointly with members of the Euromap organization. The combination of these device profiles is the application profile for extruder systems. A complete plug-and-play solution for extruder systems was defined rather than just plug and optional hardware cabling.
The main extruder is always the NMT master, while all downstream devices are the NMT slaves. Via SDOs the main extruder configures the downstream devices. It controls the downstream devices by means of control and status words mapped into default PDOs. Some downstream devices provide process data via PDOs. All PDOs are transmitted synchronously. The Sync producer is always the main extruder.
The device profiles are described in the following parts:
- Part 1: General definitions (including connector and node-ID assignment)
- Part 2: Puller
- Part 3: Corrugator
- Part 4: Saw
- Part 5: Co-extruder
- Part 6: Calibration-table
