CAN-based system for powerchairs

R-net is a modular system for the control of rehabilitation powerchairs. The modules include joysticks, power units, displays (HMI), and seating/lighting units. They communicate via a CAN-based network using an proprietary application layer. It is possible to connect up to 15 R-net devices. “A key feature is the ability to provide a simple, 2-module solution at a competitive price, but maintaining the ability to address even the most complex rehab requirements,” reads a press release by PD Drives Technology. It can be mixed and matched to provide the optimum of performance and cost.
