Ixxat provides versatile intelligent and non-intelligent interfaces for the PC, which can be used either with Ixxat tools or with customer-specific applications.

The interfaces are available as passive version or as intelligent version with 8-bit or 16-bit micro-controller systems on board and can be equipped with one or two CAN controllers (Philips SJA1000) and with an optional galvanic isolated interface.

The included powerful CAN driver VCI (virtual CAN interface) allows the programming of Windows based applications independent of the used hardware. An universal application interface makes the changing of the interface possible without any adaptation of the user application. Some interfaces also support LIN.

In addition to the free VCI, Ixxat also supports the intelligent interfaces with a CANopen master API for Windows.

Linux drivers are also available for several interfaces.
