EPC vehicle computers are modern and powerful mobile PCs designed specially for demanding professional usage of mobile machines and vehicles. High environmental tolerance, two separate standard CAN bus connections, easy installation with an intelligent rack system and other versatile options make the PC an ideal choice for the demanding conditions of forest machines, mobile cranes, piling machines, trucks and other heavy duty applications.

Central units

EPC computers’ standardly integrated heating system and pioneering cooling solution allows a wide operating temperature range (−40°C to +50°C). Also, endurance against vibration and impacts as well as dirt and moisture have been taken into account. The heavy-duty aluminum enclosure and integrated shock protection further enhance the overall robustness and the design of the unit.

CAN based embedded level systems provide a good level of computing power for basic machine controlling, e.g. transmission. EPC vehicle computers also offer versatile failure-diagnostic features. Usage history can be saved to log files. There are two versions of central units available: EMP-M18 with Pentium M 1,8 GHz and EPC-C2D with Core 2 Duo processor.

New intelligent EPC-i10 12,1-inch HMI for mobile machines

EPC-i10 extends the Epec EPC vehicle computers product family. The newly integrated EPC-i10 functions seamlessly as an HMI of a machine control system, and in the same time, it's also a very powerful PC. EPC-i10 is designed for use in extreme conditions where vibration, wide temperature changes and moisture are encountered every day. They were the criteria for design and also for selection of components used. Pre-heater for low temperatures, robust aluminum housing and a toughened glass TFT screen with LED backlight together with the dust and splash protection (IP54) form base for reliable operation. They are also the features that really make the difference compared to the competing products.

The unit has some digital inputs and outputs, rich set of communication interfaces such as two CAN, two video inputs, Modem and the standard interfaces known from personal computers. As an option WLAN, Bluetooth and GPS are also available. As a special feature with modem used is that it has two SIM card slots.

The standard operating system allows usage of commercial software. Machine specific software can be written for instance with Codesys SoftPLC or Epec's own .NET based software platform. EPC-i10 offers excellent platform for creating reliable, efficient and user-friendly HMI for the control system.
