Advanced Motion Controls announces a new motion control servo drive platform, DigiFlex® Performance™ series. All servo drives in this series are configurable and can drive permanent magnet brushed or brushless motors, voice coil actuators and closed-loop AC induction motors. With a varied selection of feedback choices and CANopen network commands, this series is the foundation for many motion control solutions.
Adaptability and ease of integration were paramount to the design's architecture. This distributed, digital control platform supports torque, velocity and position modes, feedback from incremental, absolute and sine/cosine encoders or resolvers and allows OEM machine builders to choose whatever drive package they need. Completely flexible I/O and event control assignments allows integrators to configure drives without having to reconfigure their system. All of this is also incorporated with wide power range scalability. Nearly all features are available whether the power requirements are for 100 W continuous or less at 24 VDC or more than 40 kW peak at 480 VAC. Best of all, these solutions are configured from the same companion set up software package, DriveWare™, regardless of drive selected.
DigiFlex® Performance™ series CANopen interface is completely isolated and supports the protocol for motion control across the distributed network (CANopen communication protocol, CiA 301, and Device profile for drives and motion control commands, CiA 402). Drive commissioning can be accomplished through DriveWare™, a fully graphical Windows© based application, over the CAN network or a separate RS-232 PC interface for ease of set up. Control features an interpolated position mode (PVT) with cubic interpolation for smooth, coordinated, multi-axis position control via the CANopen interface. Multiple homing routines, based on the home switch input and/or the encoder index pulse, can be selected for implementation. All drive and motor parameters are stored in non-volatile memory.
