PowerPC™ Device

The EPPC-405-UC and the EPPC-405-HR are stand-alone PowerPC™ controller in compact enclosures without fan cooling for hat rail mounting. The powerful AMCC PPC405EP with 133 to 266 MHz enables a performance of up to 375 MIPS.

Network Interfaces

The controller came with a 10/100BaseT Ethernet interface (IEEE802.3) that is accessible via a RJ45 connector.
A RS-232 interface for programming and service is accessible via RJ connectors, too.
One or two CAN interfaces based on SJA1000 CAN-controllers with transfer rates up to 1 Mbit/s are supported. The interfaces are designed according to ISO 11898 with electrical isolation and Mini-Combicon connectors.
The EPPC-405-UC is additionally equipped with two USB host interfaces and two additional serial interfaces (RS-232 and RS-485).

Software Support

Linux and VxWorks are directly supported, others on request. On board peripheral drivers are supported by esd. An on-board web server can be used for configuration purposes.
For both controllers esd supports CANopen firmware with CANopen master and CANopen slave properties.
With the optional IEC 61131-3 programming and run-time system CoDeSys the controllers act as Soft-PLCs. The CoDeSys implementation supports specific CANopen slave operation and basic CANopen master operations.
