Lexium SD3 stepper drives

Availability
In stock

The range of Lexium SD3 stepper drives that are compatible with BRS stepper motors constitutes a compact and dynamic combination for machines across a wide power and power supply voltage range:

Lexium SD3 28 stepper drive:

  • 115 V to 230 V single phase, 2,5 A output current
  • 115 V to 230 V single phase, 6,8 A output current

BRS stepper motor:

  • Maximum torque: from 1,5 Nm to 16,5 Nm
  • Holding torque: from 1,7 Nm to 19,7 Nm

The Lexium SD3 range is enhanced by GBX planetary reducers. Easy to mount, lubricated for life and available in ten reduction ratios: 3:1 to 25:1.

Economical, GBX reducers are designed for applications, which do not require a very limited play.

A complete equipment

Lexium SD3 integrates functions and components usually found externally, which are used to keep its compact design, making it easier to integrate the drive into control enclosures or machines.

The Lexium SD3 stepper drive is incorporated in the safety system of installations. It integrates the "Safe torque off" safety function, which prevents accidental starting of the motor.

This function is compliant with machine standard EN 954-1 category 3, standard IEC/EN 61508 SIL 2 for electrical installations and standard IEC/EN 61800-5-2 for power drives.

Lexium SD3 can control BRS motors in accordance with a large number of control modes:

Positioning modes

  • Point-to-point mode
  • Motion sequence mode
  • Electronic gear control

Speed modes

  • Speed control
  • Jog mode

Manual operation for easy setup.

Lexium SD3 stepper drives also provide traditional commissioning functions (homing, reference setting, etc.).

Control and interfaces

Lexium SD3 has three control interfaces as standard:

  • Interface for CANopen, Modbus, or Profibus DP communication network
  • 1 ±10 V analog reference inputs to give the speed or current reference, and limit the speed or current.
  • 1 EIA-422 (RS-422) (A/B) incremental encoder or pulses/direction input.
  • These interfaces are supplemented by logic inputs and outputs, which can be used as source (positive logic) or sink (negative logic) in order to adapt to outputs of controllers that are available on the market.

The Lexium control tool software is used to configure, set and debug the Lexium SD3 axis.

Description

The Lexium SD3 stepper drive front side:

  • A hinged door for access to connections (spring terminals, screw terminals and Molex connectors).
  • An integrated 7-segment display terminal, which is used to set the drive parameters, display errors and monitor the system. It is also used to control the drive in manual operation.
